A group of academic leadership from South Carolina recently went to Capitol Hill to visit the SC Congressional Delegation offices to personally thank the members for their support of federal EPSCoR and IDeA programs offered by the NSF, NIH, DoD, DOE, NASA, and the USDA.
During this visit, the team highlighted the impact of the EPSCoR and IDeA programs on our state research infrastructure and students.
The group also attended a meeting hosted by the national EPSCoR/IDeA Coalition and met with representatives from other EPSCoR and IDeA jurisdictions.
In attendance were Christopher Davies, Associate Provost, Medical University of South Carolina; Prakash Nagarkatti, VP for Research, University of South Carolina; Tanju Karanfil, VP for Research, Clemson University; Nadim Aziz, Director, SC EPSCoR Program; and Derrick Swinton, Chair and Professor of Chemistry, Claflin University, representing SC’s predominantly undergraduate institutions.
