SC DEPSCoR

Overview

The Department of Defense Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (DEPSCoR) is designed to award grants that promote competitive research within the state in defense-specific research areas of interest.  Each year, grants are awarded through a competitive process administered by the Army Research Office (ARO), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR).

Opportunities

2009 DEPSCoR
The Department of Defense has released the FY2009 DEPSCoR Call for Proposals.  It is available here for download.  There is a significant change in the way the DoD is administering the program.  Prior to this offering each EPSCoR State was allowed to submit a single package containing a limited number of proposals.  For the attached FY09 solicitation, each institution in an EPSCoR state may submit up to a maximum of 3 proposals.   Each institution will run an internal process to identify and process its three applications.  In anticipation of the release of the program, and without knowledge of the administrative change, the South Carolina EPSCoR/IDeA State Office conducted an exhaustive external mail and panel review process; however, only Clemson University and USC-Columbia participated in this review.  If you are located at either of these institutions, please be aware that your Chief Research Officer has agreed to accept the results of this review and that your institution’s three applications have been identified.
